Monthly Pilates Master Class

Master classes are meant for students who have some familiarity with Pilates and would like to inspire and advance their practice. Each class will focus on a different principle of Pilates, deepening students'' understanding of working safely towards more advanced movements. Students will learn how to tackle even the most basic exercise with refreshed vigor that will revitalize their normal workouts. Come prepared to learn, sweat and push yourself to the next level!

In this first session with Tim you will locate your locks and drop into your breath to free your practice. Guruji says: “the Ashtanga practice is a breathing exercise – the rest is just bending!”. You will establish yourself firmly in the foundations of breath with a clear physical understanding of the use of the bandhas/body locks. You will learn essential tools to deal with anxiety and stress, simple pranayama to help your body open, your mind to settle into one-pointed focus and to free your body. "Cultivating the Buddhi--An Introduction to Pranayama"
The Buddhi is the "Awakened Mind", or Intelligence--what could be called the "Sattvic" (harmonious, expansive, and luminous) state of mind. This class will introduce the foundational principles of Pranayama and explain how the application of these principles can cultivate the Buddhi.

Break a sweat while learning to safely balance on your hands, have fun while challenging yourself and gain access to your own inner strength. The magic of the arm balance is demystified and made approachable so that every practitioner who is not afraid to put in the work can feel the beauty of flight.
When done correctly arm balances can build self-esteem, increase energy flow and heal old injuries. Every student will leave with proven techniques to safely build the structural support necessary for stability in all strength based postures.
